Krysten Keches, harpist

Krysten teaches students of all levels at her private studio in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She specializes in classical pedal and lever harp instruction for ages 4-18 and strives to share her love of music in a warm and supportive environment. Her students have the opportunity to participate in regular recitals and harp ensemble courses. Krysten also offers lessons online through a variety of platforms including Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype.
Krysten earned a Music-in-Education certificate as part of her graduate studies at New England Conservatory. She is the harp coach for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and serves as the resident harp instructor at the organization's two-week summer camp in Maine. Krysten's students have attended top colleges, performed on National Public Radio's From the Top, won spots in Massachusetts Music Educators Association's District and All-State Orchestras, and been named prizewinners in multiple competitions, including the New England Philharmonic Concerto Competition (first prize, 2022), the Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition (third prize, 2023), the American Harp Society's National Competition (first prize, Junior Division, 2019) and the Young Artist's Harp Competition (second prize, Preparatory Division, 2018). Krysten's recent masterclasses include a weeklong guest artist residency at Williams College. Committed to mentoring young musicians, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra Foundation.
